Obituary

Roberta J. Riley, 90, of Uniondale, PA., died early Monday morning, March 27, 2006 at her daughters home. She was the wife of the late George W. Riley who died January 25, 2004. They were married for 67 years. Born June 30, 1915 in Queens, NY., She was the daughter of the late Ferdinand and Margaret Tanyas Schumann. She was a former resident of Queens, New York, Milford, Delaware and Fort Meyers Beach, Florida. During her stay at Willowbrook Assisted Living in Clarks-Summit, PA., she attended the Church of St. Benedict in Newton Ransom, PA. Prior to her retirement, she was a secretary at the State University of New York at Newpaltz for 15 years. She enjoyed life and loved her family very much. She is survived by two daughters: Margaret Browne of Warren, NJ. and Dorothy Ellis of Uniondale, PA.; eight grandchildren: James Peter Browne, George Browne, M.D., Roberta Bertola, Kathleen Brock, Elizabeth Monroe, Amy Wright, Daniel Woolley and Alban Woolley; 26 Great Grandchildren; Several Nieces and Nephews. She was preceded in death by three sisters: Marjorie Mullholland, Dorthea Green and Gertrude Schumann The funeral was held Thursday, March 30, 2006 at 10:00 AM from the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home, Dundaff and Main Streets, Clifford, PA., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM in St. Pius X Church, Route 106, Royal, PA., celebrated by the Msgr. Joseph G. Quinn, pastor. Cremation followed at the Maple Hill Crematory, Archbald, PA. Friends called Thursday morning, March 30, 2006 from 9:00 to 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Pallbearers: James and George Browne, Dainel Wooley, Paul Wright, Murdock Ratten and Eli Marsh.
