Robert R. Warholic, 89, of Carbondale, PA, died Friday, April 21, 2017 at Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton, PA. He is survived by his wife of 66 years the former Mary R. Tolerico. Born in Sturges, PA, he was the son of the late John and Elizabeth Capri Warholic, and was an Army veteran of the Korean War. Bob had been employed as the sales manager in the automotive department at Sugarman's in Eynon for over 35 years and later worked at Clifford of Vermont in Whites Crossing. He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Carbondale. He was an avid hunter but his passion was woodworking and his specialty was making birdhouses. In their earlier years, Bob and Mary enjoyed roller skating together. Bob played bocce with a local bocce league and won a championship. He was also a loyal Boston Red Sox and Ted Williams fan. His greatest joy in life was being a proud grandfather. Bob and Mary played a big part in their grandchildren's lives always making trips to visit and support them as they were growing up. He is survived by two children: Robert J. Warholic and wife Andrea of Johnson City, NY and Mary Evertz and husband Earl of Pen Argyl, PA; four grandchildren: Robert Warholic and fiancée Marissa, Adam Warholic and wife Jessica, Travis Warholic and wife Jennifer and Lauren Warholic and fiancé Nate; nine great grandchildren: Anthony, Alana, Jenna, Christopher, T.J., London, John, Julie and Isaac; one sister: Nancy Smith of Jermyn; three brothers: Charlie Warholic of Scott Township, PA, Billy Warholic of Archbald, PA and Tom Warholic of Scott Township, PA; numerous nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by four brothers: John "Babe", Michael, Richard, and Ted Warholic; one sister: Bertha Merrifield. The funeral was held Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. from the Carmine J. & Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 89 Farview Street, Carbondale, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 15 Fallbrook Street, Carbondale, celebrated by Rev. Paul Ruttle, CP. Entombment, Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton, PA. Pallberaers: Tom, Ted, Todd and John Warholic, Michael Tolerico and Joseph Marshalek. Friends called Tuesday, April 25, 2017 from 4-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions were made to the American Diabetes Association.
