Robert J. Shemelewski, 88, of Wilkes Barre, PA, died Thursday, April 11, 2024 at Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Plains Township, PA.

Born March 28, 1936 in Wilkes Barre, PA, he was the son of the late Andrew and Emma Bonk Shemelewski. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War and a retired union carpenter.

He is survived by four children: Robert, Joseph and Michael Shemelewski and Diana Lockhart.

Viewing hours were held Saturday, April 20, 2024 from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. at John V. Morris Funeral Home, Inc., 625 N. Main Street, Wilkes Barre, PA. Cremation followed.

Arrangements were entrusted to Carmine J. & Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Carbondale, PA.
