Robert L. Serafini, 87, of Carbondale, PA, died peacefully on Monday, January 1, 2024 at the Dunmore Health Center, Dunmore, PA.

Born in Carbondale, PA, he was the son of the late Tulio and Anna Mussari Serafini, he was affectionately known as Bob or Bobby to family and friends. Bob played basketball for and was a graduate of St. Rose High School. He worked at Glass Products after serving in the Army National Guard.

Bobby was a loving son, brother, uncle, nephew, and cousin. His faith in God and the love for his family ruled his personal life, always available to help and care for those in need. Bob loved food and spent his free time interacting with family in the kitchen of Pettinato's Restaurant. He also enjoyed meeting his friends for coffee, cruising Main Street, and talking sports. He was affectionately known to his nieces and nephews as the "mayor" of Carbondale as he navigated his hometown.

Bobby is survived by his loving family including nieces and nephews, and their spouses, several great nieces and nephews, and many cousins. He is predeceased in death by his brother, John and his sisters, Anna Mae Graziano and Elizabeth (Betty Lou).

The family wishes to extend their appreciation and gratitude to the caregivers at Dunmore Health Center and Residential Home Hospice who took excellent care of Bob during his stay. A heart-felt thank you to all family and friends who have expressed their concern and support during these challenging times.

The funeral was held Saturday, January 6, 2024 from Carmine J. & Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 89 Farview St, Carbondale, PA, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 15 Fallbrook St, Carbondale, PA, celebrated by Rev. Seth Wasnock, pastor. Interment, St. Rose Cemetery, Carbondale, PA.

Pallbearers: Joseph Graziano, Paul Duane, Joseph Maggio, Ryan Duane and Christopher Duane.

The family received friends on Saturday, January 6, 2024 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
