Obituary

Robert A. Pennay, 78, of Kingsley, PA., died Friday morning, October 3, 2008 at the Barnes Kasson Skilled Nursing Facility, Susquehanna, PA. He was the husband of the former Rosalie Buchanan. Born October 14, 1929 in Harford, PA., he was the son of the late Miles and Bertha (Anderson) Pennay. He was a member of the South Gibson United Methodist Church, South Gibson, PA. He graduated from the Harford High School and was a veteran of the Air Force. He was a retired machinist for Fisher-Porter Manufacturing Company in Warminster, PA. and he also owned the Lenox Dairy Bar for nine years. He was an avid gardener and loved wood working. He is survived by two sons: Thomas Robert Pennay and wife Evie of Ocala, FL. and Stephen Gregory Pennay and wife Robyn of Kingsley, PA.; one daughter: Barbara Lynn Powers and husband Robert of Kingsley, PA.; four grandchildren: Aubrey J. Pennay of Ocala, FL., Brandon Powers, Robert Bryce Powers, III. and Bradley Michael Powers all of Kingsley, PA.; one sister Marilyn Loch of Quakertown, PA. A memorial service was held Sunday, October 12, 2008 at 1:00 PM in the South Gibson United Methodist Church, South Gibson, with the Rev. Barbara Doan, pastor, officiating. Cremation took place at the Maple Hill Crematory, Archbald, PA. Arrangements are under the direction of the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Clifford, PA. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contribution can be made in Bob's name to the Barnes Kasson Skilled Nursing Facility, 400 Turnpike Street, Susquehanna, PA 18847.
