Robert J. McLaughlin, 91, of Carbondale, PA, died Saturday, August 11, 2018 at the Forest City Nursing Center, Forest City, PA, after an illness. Born November 18, 1926 in Carbondale, he was the son of the late William and Estelle Farrell McLaughlin. Bob was a graduate of St. Rose High School, Carbondale, and the University of Scranton, class of 1947. He was a member of St. Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale, the University of Scranton's Purple Club and the Sierra Club. Prior to his retirement in 1993, Bob had been employed as the Director of Lackawanna County Agency on Aging. The family would like to thank the staff of the Forest City Nursing Center and AseraCare Hospice for the compassionate care given to Bob during his illness. He is survived by a cousin: Mary Louise Burke of Carbondale. A Mass of Christian Burial was held Saturday, August 18, 2018 at 9:30 a.m. from St. Rose of Lima Church, 6 N. Church Street, Carbondale. Interment, St. Rose Cemetery, Carbondale. Arrangements were entrusted to Edward A. Wade Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Carbondale.
