Robert W. Malvasia, age 50, of Greenfield Township, PA. died unexpectedly Thursday evening, September 2, 2004 at the Marian Community Hospital, Carbondale, PA.
Born December 17, 1953 in Cliffside Park, NJ. He was the son of the late Vincent, Jr. and Ann (Pinzone) Malvasia.
He was a member of St. Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale where he worked for the church bingo. He was a graduate of Cliffside Park High School, New Jersey. He attended Our Lady of Grace Grammar School, New Jersey. He was a member of the Carbondale Lions Club and the AIDS Foundation.
He enjoyed gambling at Atlantic City and Las Vegas. He was a loving and caring person who will be greatly missed.
He is survived by: one sister: Joanne Malvasia of Cliffside Park, NJ.; one brother: Vincent Malvasia III of Greenfield Twp., PA. Several Nieces, Nephews, Great Nieces, Great Nephews, Aunts, Uncles and Cousins
He was preceded in death two brothers: Anthony and Salvatore Malvasia; one sister: Nancy Malvasia
The funeral was held Tuesday, September 7, 2004 at 9:30 am from the Carmine J. Louis C. Parise Funeral Home, Inc., Farview and 41st Streets, Carbondale, with the Rev. Mark A. Honhart of St. Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale, officiating. Interment, Our Mother Of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township.
Friends called Monday from 2-4 7-9 pm. Pallbearers: Tony Issa, John Penzone, Jeff Hayes, Jamie Henning, Niles Malvasia, Carl Bonaguaro and Fred Faris.
