Robert J. Lyon, Sr. age 53, of 12 Pleasant Avenue, Carbondale died unexpectedly Monday evening, November 18, 2002 at the Marian Community Hospital, Carbondale. His wife is the former Patricia Smith. Born October 19, 1949 in Forest City, PA. He was the son of the late Albert Lyon, Sr. and Myrtle L. (Bradley) Lyon. He was an avid hunter. He was employed by Miller Casket Company in Jermyn, PA. for over 10 years. He is survived by three daughters: Laura and Christina Lyon both of Carbondale, PA. and Tina Lyon of Honesdale, PA.; three sons: Robert Lyon, Jr. of Carbondale, PA., Anthony Lyon of Jessup, PA. and James Lyon of Carbondale, PA. three sisters: Gertrude Coleman of Jermyn, PA., Lillian Barnes of Tunkhannock, PA. and Rosemary Tuttle of Honesdale, PA. one brother: Harry Lyon of Jessup, PA. one Stepson, Michael Fay of Carbondale, PA.; one Stepdaughter, Jessica Pavia of Orlando, FL.; one Stepsister, Mandy Smith of Carbondale, PA.; 3 Grandchildren He was preceded in death by three brothers: Albert Jr., Abbey, and Elmer Lyon The funeral was held Thursday, November 21, 2002 at 9:00 am from the Carmine J. Louis C. Parise Funeral Home, Inc., Farview and 41st Streets, Carbondale, with mass at 9:30 am in St. Rose Of Lima Church, 6 North Church Street, Carbondale, celebrated by Rev. Thomas J. McDermott, Assistant Pastor. Interment, Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton. Viewing was held Thursday, November 21, 2002 from 8:00am to 9:00am.
