Obituary
Robert P. Lilly, 80, of Carbondale, PA, died Saturday, March 28, 2026 at home after an illness.
Born March 12, 1946 in Scranton, PA, he was the son of the late John F. and Dorothy Ledinger Lilly.
He worked as a custodian for 24 years before his retirement from the University of Scranton and was a former member of St. Ann Basilica Parish, Scranton. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan.
He is survived by two daughters: Colleen Mowery and husband, Todd of Carbondale, PA, and Kelly Bestrycki-Lilly of Simpson, PA; grandchildren: John Ragen, Ashley Miller and husband, Cody, Jamie, Alyssa, Josie and Jesse Bestrycki, Michael Bossick and Darren Lilly; a step-grandson: Todd Boyles; 10 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by his twin brother: John Lilly, and sisters: Mary Ann Donovan, Dorothy Murray, and Kathleen Weir.
A viewing will be held Thursday, April 9, 2026 from 4-7 p.m. at Carmine J. & Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 89 Farview Street, Carbondale, PA. A Catholic blessing service will be conducted at 4:30 p.m.
