Obituary

Robert P. Kurisko, 78, of Greenfield Township, PA., died Wednesday morning, October 28, 2009 at the VNA Hospice Unit at Community Medical Center, Scranton, PA. He was the husband of the former Bernice Mosher, who died December 15, 1999. Born April 11, 1931 in Trenton, NJ., he was the son of the late Michael and Amelia (Kudelka) Kurisko.He was a former resident of Browns Mills, New Jersey and has resided in Greenfield Township for the past eight years. He was a graduate of Trenton Central High School and was a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam Wars later retiring from the Navy after 23 years of service. He had also been employed in the security department of McGraw-Hill Publishers in New Jersey. He was a former member of St. Ann's Church in Browns Mills. He is survived by two daughters: JoAnne Menard of New Market, NH. and Shirley Compton of Greenfield Township, PA.; two sons: Charles (Buddy) Arrow of Browns Mills, NJ. and Elmer (Pete) Groover of Alfred, PA.; one brother: Paul Kurisko and wife Julia of Pennington, NJ.;Niece: Frances Bramble of Little Egg Harbor, NJ.; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins.He was preceded in death by two sisters: Margaret Krakowski and Barbara Hemmingway; niece: Rosemarie Krakowski-Fisher.A blessing service was held Friday, October 30, 2009 at 1:00 PM from the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home Cremation Services, Dundaff and Main Streets, Clifford, PA., with Monsignor David L. Tressler, pastor of St. Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale, PA., officiating. Cremation followed. Friends called Friday, October 30, 2009 from 11:00 AM until time of service.
