Robert W. Frey, age 72, formerly of the Clifford area and a resident of the Carbondale Nursing Home, Carbondale, PA. died Saturday morning, June 19, 2004 at the Marian Community Hospital, Carbondale after an illness. His wife is the former Beulah Kelly.
Born October 14, 1931 in Paterson, NJ. He was the son of the late Edward and Barbara Frey.
He worked at Traine Company in Dunmore, PA. for more than 15 years. He was an Army Veteran having served in the Korean Conflict where he earned the Korean Service Medal with two Bronze Stars. He was a member of the Elk Mountain VFW Post 8488, Lenox, PA.
He was an avid fisherman in his younger years and loved to play Solitaire.
He is survived by three step sons: Clint Mills of Clifford, PA., Ted Mills of Uniondale, PA. and Ronald Conklin of Lake Winola, PA.; two step daughters: Sandra Peters of Newton Lake, PA. and Betty Jean Kase of Heart Lake, PA.; one brother: William Frey of Newfoundland, NJ.; 15 Step Grandchildren; 31 Step Great Grandchildren; 3 Step Great Great Grandchildren; Several Nieces Nephews
He was preceded in death by two step grandsons: Randy Mills and Devon Conklin; one brother: Edward Frey
The funeral was held Tuesday, June 22, 2004 at 11:00 am in the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home, Dundaff and Main Streets, Clifford, with the Rev. Joseph Sitko, pastor of St. Pius X Church, Royal, PA., officiating. Interment, Valley View Memorial Park, Montdale, PA.
Friends called Monday, June 21, 2004 from 4-8 pm.
Military services were conducted by the Elk Mountain VFW Post 8488. Pallbearers: Travis Mills, Ted Mills, Clinton Mills, Ricky White, Chris Mazza, Victor Ceria, Chris Frey and John Frey.
