Robert M. Evans, Sr. 66, of Carbondale, PA, passed away Friday, January 21, 2022 at home surrounded by his loving family after a brief battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, the former Josephine Edwards. Born February 25, 1955 in Taylor, PA, he was the son of the late Kenneth Evans and Erica Czaja Beck. Bob attended Riverside High School, Taylor, and had been employed by Innocor Foam Technologies, Inc., Archbald, PA. He was an active member of the Peckville Assembly of God Church and served eight years in the U.S. Army reserves. Bob was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. His proudest moments in life were being together with his family and enjoying all the happiness they shared. He is survived by five children: Robert M. Evans and wife, Terry of New Castle, IN, Amanda Merrigan and husband, Carl of Carbondale, PA, Veronica Evans and partner, Jonathan Scrobola of Carbondale, PA, Quincy Evans of Archbald, PA, and Bruce Evans of Scranton, PA; nine grandchildren: Aniesa and Mathew Stinnard, Austin and Ariyonni Evans, Justin, Caitlin and Brittney Merrigan, Brittany Groves and Dylan Stone; four great grandchildren: Joseph C. McAllister, III., Willow and Wyatt Groves and Donald Stone; one sister: Irene Woelkers and husband, Paul of Moscow, PA; three brothers: Gary Beck and wife, Rita of Taylor, PA, Ronnie Beck and wife, Rosemary of Scranton, PA, and David Beck and companion, Nadine of Taylor, PA; several nieces and nephews; and his grand pup: Ripple. He was also preceded in death by a grandson: Frederick "Robert" Stinnard. The funeral was held Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. from the Peckville Assembly of God Church, 3364 Scranton Carbondale Highway, Blakely, PA, with Rev. Terry Drost, pastor, officiating. Interment, Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst, PA. Pallbearers: Robert Evans, Jr., Carl Merrigan, Gary Beck, Ronnie Beck, David Beck, Mathew Stinnard and Austin Evans. A viewing was held Monday, January 24, 2022 from 4-7 p.m. at the church and Tuesday, January 25, 2022 morning from 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the church.
