Robert A. Demian, age 54, of Olyphant, PA., passed away early Sunday morning, August 14, 2005 at the VNA Hospice Unit at Moses Taylor Hospital, Scranton, PA., following a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. His wife is the former Carol Jenkins.
Born June 26, 1951 in Peckville, PA., he is the son of Walter and Eleanor (Prokipchak) Demian of Olyphant.
He was a member of the Peckville Assembly of God Church and also attended the Clarks Green Assembly of God Church. He was a 1969 graduate of the Olyphant High School. He was retired from the Army National Guard. He worked at RCA Thompson Consumer Electronics in Dunmore, PA. for 31 years. After the company closed, he worked for 2 years at Pride Mobility in Pittston, PA. He last worked at the MTF Muscular Skeletal Transplant Foundation in Jessup, PA.
He was a Royal Ranger Leader in Peckville and an avid softball player who most recently played in the church league for the Peckville Assembly of God Church.
He was a loving husband, father, son, brother, grandfather and father-in-law who will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by three daughters: Anna husband Michael Choyka of Throop, PA., Jessica Demian of Dickson City, PA. and Jeannie husband Joshua Manarchuck of Halifax, PA. and formerly of Carbondale, PA.; one son: Robert Demian, Jr. of Olyphant, PA.; three brothers: Walter Demian of Olyphant, PA., Scott wife Mia Demian of Olyphant, PA. and Jeffrey wife Cathy Demian of Olyphant, PA.; four grandchildren: Kellie, Kyle, Emma Cody; Several Nieces Nephews
The funeral was held Wednesday, August 17, 2005 at 11:00 am in the Hudak-OShea Funeral Home, Inc., 115 Garfield Avenue, Olyphant, with the Rev. Ernest Drost and Rev. Terry Drost, pastors of the Peckville Assembly of God Church, officiating. Interment, Valley View Memorial Park, Montdale, PA.
Friends called Tuesday, August 16, 2005 from 2-4 6-9 pm and Wednesday from 10:00 am until service time.
A memorial blood drive will be held in memory of Robert at a later date.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted under the care of the Carmine J. Louis C. Parise Funeral Home, Inc., Farview and 41st Streets, Carbondale.
Pallbearers: Bobby Demian, Jr., Jeffrey Demian, Scott Demian, Walter Demian, Joshua Manarchuck and Michael Choyka. Honary Pallbearers: Ian Demian, Sean Demian, Zach Demian and Alex Demian.
