Robert A. deGonzague, 90, of Forest City, PA, died Saturday, December 21, 2024 at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Pocono, East Stroudsburg, PA, after a lengthy illness. He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Anna C. Moraski.

Born June 6, 1934 in New York, NY, he was the son of the late Cecil and Frances Lesjack deGonzague.

Bob was raised in Astoria and Middle Village, Queens, NY, and was a longtime resident of its Rosedale neighborhood before settling in Forest City. He was a graduate of New York public schools, served in the U.S. Army and started his career as a carpenter with Union 632. He then was employed for the New York City Department of Buildings where he retired after 25 years as a chief building inspector of the B.E.S.T Squad. Bob was a member of Allied Building Inspectors Union 211 and the Free and Accepted Mason's.

He is survived by two sons: Robert L. deGonzague of Forest City, PA, and Christopher A. DeGonzague, president of the Forest City Borough Council; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was also preceded in death by a sister: Lucille Jackson.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held Saturday, January 4, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church, 739 Delaware Street, Forest City, PA, celebrated by Rev. Arun Lakra, pastor. Interment, St. Joseph Cemetery, Forest City, PA.

Friends called Saturday, January 4, 2024 from 9:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. at the church.
