Rita A. Scalzo, 73, of Mayfield, PA, died Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at the Forest City Nursing Home, Forest City, PA. She was the widow of Bernard Scalzo, who died on June 11, 2017. Born November 6, 1947 in Forest City, she is the daughter of Alice Jones Davis of Sturges, PA, and the late Thomas Davis. She is survived by three children: Christine Scalzo and companion, Derek Burgenstock of Archbald, PA, Jennifer Scalzo of Mayfield, PA and Bernard Scalzo, Jr., and wife, Melissa of Dickson City, PA.; three grandchildren: Paul Soluri, Anthony Carpenter and Fiora Scalzo; a great-grandson: Jacob Carpenter; two sisters: Joann Gorton of Union Dale, PA and Sarah Kerylovicz of Waymart, PA; one brother: Edward Davis of Carbondale, PA. several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by a daughter: Gina Scalzo; and a brother: Thomas Davis. Private arrangements were conducted by Carmine J. & Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Carbondale, PA.
