Richard J. Kozloski, 76, of RR 2, Thompson, PA., died Sunday, February 12, 2006 at Marian Community Hospital, Carbondale, PA.
He was preceded in death by his first wife the former Elizabeth Giordano and is survived by his second wife the former Joan Lennon.
Born January 3, 1930 in West Paterson, NJ. He was the son of the late John and Helen Klobuszewska Kozloski.
He was a former resident of Lincoln Park, NJ and has resided in Thompson for the past 25 years. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a sheriffs deputy for Morris County New Jersey. He also served as a New Jersey state game warden and with the special police force in Lincoln Park, NJ. He was a former delagate for Local 151 and was of the Catholic faith.
He is survived by one daughter: Marsha and husband LeRoy (Skip) Cottrell of Jackson, PA.; one son: Wayne Richard Kozloski of Lincoln Park, NJ.; one sister: Alfreada Mazurek of West Paterson, NJ.; one brother: Raymond Kozloski of Rockaway, NJ.; two grandsons, Wayne and wife Mary Kozloski of Port Jervis, NY. and Ryan Smith of Thompson, PA.; one granddaughter: Kayley Smith of West Milford, NJ.; one great grandson, Dillon Michael Kozloski; Several Nieces Nephews
He was preceded in death by one brother: Anton Kozloski; three sisters: Genevieve Venezia, Helen Ison and Sophie Kozloski
Friends called Thursday, February 16, 2006 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home, Dundaff and Main Streets, Clifford, PA. A prayer service was held at 3:30 PM by Rev. William Campbell, assistant pastor of St. Pius X Church, Royal, PA.
Cremation will follow at the Maple Hill Crematory, Archbald, PA.
