Obituary

Richard A. Estabrook, Sr., 80, of Montrose, PA., died Tuesday afternoon, October 5, 201 at the Endless Mountains Health Care Center, Montrose. His wife is the former Elizabeth M. Entrot. They were married January 5, 1985. He was preceded in death by his first wife the former Betty M. Welch. Born July 12, 1930 in Gibson, PA., he was the son of the late Howard W. and Rosamond (Westbrook) Estabrook. He was a graduate of Harford Vocational High School and was a butcher for 20 years at Swift Company, Hallstead, PA. He also was a truck driver for 15 years and was employed at Seddon-Lathrop Fuel Company, Montrose and NYCE, Conklin, NY. before his retirement. He was a member of Gibson United Methodist Church and attended Watson Hill Bible Church, New Milford, PA. He enjoyed traveling, bowling, hunting, fishing and dancing. He is survived by three daughters: Janice Major and husband Rev. James of Gibson, PA., Karen Ciulla and husband Thomas of Vestal, NY. and Sharon Whitney and husband Jeffrey of Montrose, PA.; two sons: Ronald Estabrook and wife Kate of Susquehanna, PA. and Richard Estabrook, Jr. and wife Kathy of Hop Bottom, PA.; two sisters: Lois and Judith Estabrook, both of Scranton, PA.; one brother: William Estabrook of New Milford, PA.; one step daughter: Donna Marie Barnes and husband Robert of New Milford, PA.; one step son: Dale Gaylord and wife Sue of Susquehanna, PA.; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother: Ralph Estabrook; two sisters: Vivian Oakley and Marjorie Payne. A memorial service was held Saturday, October 9, 2010 at 11:00 AM in the Gibson United Methodist Church, Gibson, with his son-in-law Rev. James Major, pastor of the Watson Hill Bible Church, officiating. Inurnment, Gibson Cemetery, Gibson. Friends called Saturday, October 9, 2010 from 10:00 - 11:00 AM at the church. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home Cremation Services, Clifford, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions were sent to the Watson Hill Bible Church, 3878 State Route 492, New Milford, PA 18834.
