Rhoda Elizabeth Curtis, 52, of Forest City, PA., died Saturday, February 5, 2011 at Community Medical Center, Scranton, PA., from injuries sustained in an automobile accident on January 14, 2011 on Route 670 in Dyberry Township, PA. Her husband of 23 years is William David Curtis.
Born January 28, 1959 in Scranton, PA., she was the daughter of the late George and Rhoda Elizabeth Wescott.
She was a 1978 graduate of Western Wayne High School and was currently employed as a school van driver for Krewtz Inc., Pleasant Mount, PA. She attended the Clinton Center Baptist Church, Waymart, PA.
She enjoyed fishing, going to the casino's, traveling, playing cards and crocheting. She cherished the time spent with her grandchildren.
She is survived by two daughters: Sherry Curtis and Paula Curtis Crown; three grandchildren: Abigail, Zachary and Keith Curtis; one brother: George Wescott; three sisters: Mildred Sadowski, Dorthy Mansfield and Ann Weaver; many nieces and nephews.
The funeral was held Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at 8:00 PM from the Carmine J. Louis C. Parise Funeral Home Cremation Services, Inc., Farview and 41st Streets, Carbondale, PA., with the Rev. Earl Cottrell, pastor of the Clinton Center Baptist Church, officiating. Cremation followed and inurnment took place in the Spring Brook Cemetery, Moscow, PA.
