Rebecca J. Mihalisin, 74, of Clifford Township, PA., died Saturday, December 11, 2010 at Marian Community Hospital, Carbondale, PA. She was the wife of the late Joseph A. Mihalisin, who died August 1, 2007. Born February 5, 1936 in Carbondale, PA., she was the daughter of the late Glen and Sarah (Ayres) Bates. She was a graduate of Harford High School, Harford, PA. and was a member of the Clifford Baptist Church, Clifford, PA. She enjoyed gardening and knitting. She is survived by one son: Walter Mihalisin and wife Brenda of Clifford Township, PA.; two grandchildren: Matthew and Megan Mihalisin; one sister: Rachel McAnts of Corpus Christi, TX.; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one sister: Barbara Searle. A memorial service was held Saturday, January 8, 2011 at 1:00 PM from the Clifford Baptist Church, Clifford, with Rev. John McCarty, pastor, officiating. Cremation arrangements were under the direction of the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Clifford, PA.
