Raymond A. Bolcavage, 83, of Harford, PA, died Thursday, June 13, 2024 at the Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton, PA. He is survived by his wife, the former Karen J. Lutz. They were married December 3, 1971.

Born August 23, 1940 in South Gibson, PA, he was the son of the late Joseph and Anna Kupstas Bolcavage.

Ray was a 1958 graduate of Mountain View High School and a member of their track and field team. His senior year Ray took 5th place in pole vaulting at the state championship. Ray served in the U.S. Army and after military service he dedicated 28 years as a Pennsylvania State Trooper. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 46, and the American Legion Gardner Warner Post 154, Montrose.

Ray was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing and was an avid Philadelphia Phillies fan. He was a beloved baseball coach for the Harford Little League and was assistant baseball coach at Mountain View High School for many years. Ray loved spending time with his grandchildren.

He is also survived by two sons: Jeffrey Bolcavage of Clifford Township, PA and Matthew Bolcavage of Acre Lake, PA; four grandchildren: Natalie, Landon, Joseph and Madisyn Bolcavage; two brothers: Richard Bolcavage of Endwell, NY and Ted Bolcavage of Archbald, PA; and several nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by a brother: Harold Bolcavage.

A blessing service followed by military honors was held Saturday, June 22, 2024 at 12:30 p.m. from the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 18 Airport Road, Clifford, PA, officiated by Rev. Seth Wasnock, pastor of Our Lady of the Rosary Parish, Carbondale, PA. Interment, South Gibson Cemetery, South Gibson, PA.
