Raymond R. Bennett, 80, of Harrisburg, NC, and formerly of Apalachin, NY, died Wednesday, March 5, 2025 at Hospice and Palliative Care of Cabarrus County, Kannapolis, NC. He is survived by his wife, the former Jean B. Bevan.

Born October 2, 1944 in Johnson City, NY, he was the son of the late Earl and Emily Rood Bennett.

Ray was a graduate of Owego Free Academy, Owego, NY, and earned a bachelor's degree in computer science from the University of North Carolina, Charlotte. He worked as a computer programmer for 28 years for IBM Corporation, Armonk, NY, before his retirement. He enjoyed collecting antique cars, Lionel electric trains and old toys. He was a member of Roberta Baptist Church, Concord, NC.

He is survived by two daughters: Lisa Noelle Cole of Harrisburg, NC and Wendy Lynn Henry and husband, David of Cattaraugus, NY; two grandchildren: Nate and Audrey Cole; one sister: Emily L. Bennett of Houston, TX; and several nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by two brothers: Earl Bennett, Jr. and Robert W. Bennett; and two sisters: Elizabeth Sue Bennett and Edith Jane Bennett.

Private interment, Valley View Memorial Park, Montdale, PA, under the direction of Carmine J. & Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Carbondale, PA.
