Pleecdo L. "Tex" Roba, 93, of Clifford Township, PA, died Wednesday night, January 13, 2016 at the Forest City Nursing Home, Forest City, PA. Born October 5, 1922 in Nicholson, PA, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary Turute Roba. In his earlier years, Tex had been employed as a dairy farmer at the family farm on Elk Mountain. Prior to his retirement, he had been a carpenter having worked for many years with Ed McFarland Builder in Clarks Green, PA. Tex enjoyed living on Elk Mountain and loved the outdoors. He was a loving and caring father and grandfather who will be deeply missed by his family. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of the Forest City Nursing Home, Dr. Tamrat Bekele, MD. and Theresa Micknick, P.A. for the kind and compassionate care to Tex during the past couple of years. He is survived by two sons: John Roba and wife Susan of Dalton, PA and Allen Roba and wife Cynthia of Clifford Township, PA; two daughters: Jane Nester and husband Richard Strauss of North Carolina and Elizabeth "Betty" Green and husband David of McMichaels, PA; 9 grandchildren: Jennifer, Jeffrey and Jake Roba, Sandy Tompkins, Leslie Green, Jenilyn, Jackie, Jamie and Jon Buzzerd; 4 great grandchildren; a sister-in-law: Lillian Roba of Jermyn, PA; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother: Joseph Roba; five sisters: Constance Mitchell, Anna Swetter, Bridget Roba, Gertrude Roba and Loretta Torsiello. Family and friends called Saturday, January 23, 2016 from 11:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. at Shifler-Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 18 Airport Road, Clifford. A blessing service was conducted at 2:30 p.m. by Rev. Michael J. Kirwin, pastor of St. John Vianney Parish, Royal, PA. Cremation followed.
