Philip Gilbert, 75, of Forest City, PA and Greentown, PA, passed away Thursday, April 28, 2016 following a hard fought and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
Born April 21, 1941 in New York City, NY, he was the son of the late Sol and Frances Gilbert. Philip graduated from RCA Electronics Trade School in Manhattan and worked with his father in the family business, Rapid Fur Dressing, Bronx, NY. Following his retirement in 1985, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, auctions, antiques and bingo. He was a member and volunteer at the Carbondale Senior Center and was a fan of NASCAR. His favorite driver was Kevin Harvick. A special thank you is extended to Traditional Home Health and Hospice, especially Debbie for their care and kindness to Philip. He is survived by his fiance and the love of his life, Dorlene Pencek, with whom he resided.
