Peter J. Orazzi, Jr., 57, of Greenfield Township, PA, died Sunday morning, November 3, 2024 at Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton, PA, after a lengthy illness.

Born October 27, 1967 in Carbondale, PA, he is the son of Mary Andreoni Orazzi and the late Peter J. Orazzi, Sr.

Pete was a graduate of Lakeland High School and the Culinary Institute of New York, where his family would joke that it was an expensive degree to be a terrific cook for his family and friends. He had been employed by Laborers Local 158 but enjoyed being a part time car dealer. Pete was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, skiing and golfing. He will be fondly remembered for making every situation a good time by either being the center of attention at a function or cracking a joke to lighten the mood.

He is survived by one sister: Marlene Smith and companion, Bob Statsman; one brother: Terry Orazzi and wife, Tamie; five nephews: Terry Orazzi, Jr., and companion, Brittany, Nicholas Orazzi, Christopher Smith and wife, Janel, Bryan Smith and wife, Jodi and Keith Smith and companion, Anna; an uncle and two aunts: Danny and Dorothy Orazzi and Jennie Werner; Pete's companion: Laura "Mary" Mascelli; and several cousins.

The funeral was held Friday, November 8, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. from Carmine J. & Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 89 Farview Street, Carbondale, PA, with Rev. Seth D. Wasnock, pastor of Our Lady of the Rosary Parish, Carbondale, PA, officiating. Interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township, PA.

Pallbearers: Christopher Smith, Bryan Smith, Keith Smith, Terry Orazzi, Jr., Nicholas Orazzi, Steven Borak, Dr. William Smith, DDS., and Dr. Matthew Haley, DO.
