Peter Kowalsky age 80, of RD 1 Box 169, Uniondale, died Thursday morning, September 12, 2002 at the Marian Community Hospital, Carbondale. Born July 14, 1922 in Simpson, PA. He was the son of the late Stephen and Alexandria (Barberra) Kowalsky. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Russian Orthodox Church, Dundaff. He enjoyed fishing, nature walks, and spending time with his grandchildren. He enjoyed life and will be greatly missed. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS: The American Lung Association of Pennsylvania 738 South Main Avenue Scranton, PA 18509 He is survived by two sons: Joseph Kowalsky of Florida and Tim Kowalsky of Uniondale, PA.; three sisters: Mary Kowalsky of New Jersey, Justine DeMonish of Maine and Ann Sklarsky of New Jersey; one brother: Michael Kowalsky of California; 6 Grandchildren; Several Nieces Nephews He was preceded in death by three sisters, Eva Swedersky, Ellen Amodio, and Olga Kowalsky The funeral was held Monday, September 16, 2002 at 9:30 am from the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home, Dundaff and Main Streets, Clifford, with mass at 10:00 am in St. John the Baptist Russian Orthodox Church, Dundaff, celebrated by Father Dennis Swencki, Pastor. Interment, parish cemetery, Dundaff. Viewing was held Sunday, September 15, 2002 from 2-4 and 6-9. Parastas service 7:00 pm.
