Pauline Turonis, 85, of Carbondale, PA., died Tuesday morning, February 23, 2010 at the Birchwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Nanticoke, PA. Born April 17, 1924 in Carbondale, PA., she was the daughter of the late Peter and Hermina (Gentelini) Turonis. She was a graduate of Benjamin Franklin High School, Carbondale and a lifelong member of St. Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale. She was a loving aunt who enjoyed gardening and picking blueberries with her nieces and nephews. She will be deeply missed by her family. She is survived by nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers: Stanley, William and Walter Turonis; four sisters: Stacia Kadish, Stella Leputa, Patty Irving and Cecilia Turonis. A Mass of Christian Burial was held Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at 10:30 AM in St. Rose of Lima Church, 6 North Church Street, Carbondale. Interment, parish cemetery, Carbondale. Friends called Wednesday, March 3, 2010 from 9:30 -10:30 AM at the church. Arrangements were entrusted to the Edward A. Wade Funeral Home Cremation Services, Inc., 4 Morris Place, Carbondale, PA.
