Pauline Novitsky, age 89, a resident of Scott Township, PA., died Thursday afternoon, June 28, 2012 at Regional Hospital, Scranton, PA. She was the wife of the late Stephen Novitsky who died in 1971. Born July 17, 1922 in Throop, PA., she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Ann (Tarrassar) Mattey. She worked as a seamstress for many years at Smart Styles in Clarks Summit, PA. She enjoyed crocheting, puzzle books and baking. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family. She was a kind, loving, hard working and the greatest mom, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother that anyone could ask for. She will be deeply missed by all of her family. She is survived by two daughters: Dorothy Mullen of Scott Township, PA. and Paulette Pilcavage and husband Richard of Scott Township, PA.; one son: Allen Bredbenner, Sr. of Scott Township, PA.; five grandchildren: Jessie Pilcavage of Scott Township, PA., Allen Bredbenner, Jr. of Scott Township, PA., John Mullen and wife Crystal of Scott Township, PA., Denise Sleboda of Mayfield, PA. and Debra Culver of Jermyn, PA.; five great grandchildren: Dalton Muller of Scott Township, PA., Ashley Muller of Scott Township, PA., Natasha Culver of Jermyn, PA., Nicole Culver of Jermyn, PA. and Tanya Sleboda of Mayfield, PA.; three great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers: Joseph, Edward and John Mattey; three sisters: Margaret Kuchinski, Josephine Pabis and Helen Meka. As per her request she was cremated and no funeral services were held. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to the Carmine J. Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Carbondale, PA.
