Pauline Ann (Paula) Centrella - Tagatac passed peacefully into the loving arms of Jesus on Sunday, July 9, 2023.
Born August 17, 1936, in Carbondale, PA. She was the daughter of the late Paul and Mary (Trella) Supko of Richmondale, PA.
Paula grew up in Stratford, CT, and graduated from Stratford High School in 1954. She spent one semester at Keystone Junior College before marrying her first husband, Michael Centrella, the father of her five children.
Paula loved golf and spending time at her home in Stuart FL with friends, as well as the family home on Newton Lake. There she was able to connect with her extended family and spent many wonderful years at the lake entertaining the family, picking blueberries, golfing, and cooking up a storm. She loved her work as a licensed insurance agent for Prudential Life Insurance Company and a licensed real estate broker. She was also the director of the Department of Aging in Bridgeport, CT. She took immense pride in the Greenfield Historical Society and Mt. Carmel Church's Annual Summer picnic. She was an active member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church for many years.
Paula is survived by her four children: Scott Centrella (Carlie) of Easton, CT, Paul Centrella of Oklahoma City, OK, Liz Vincent of Albuquerque, NM, and Cara Mia Centrella of Hershey, PA; eight grandchildren: Ariane Centrella, Adam Centrella and wife, Dana, Taylor Ann Centrella, Gabrielle Vincent, Robert Foley III., Jax Centrella, Paul Foley and Emma Foley; and two great-grandchildren: Rocco and Otto Centrella.
Paula was also preceded in death by her beloved son: Michael Centrella, and her sister: Marguerite Casey.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Friday, July 14, 2023 at 11:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 15 Fallbrook Street, Carbondale, PA, celebrated by Rev. Joseph Mosley, senior priest. Interment, St. John Byzantine Catholic Cemetery, Richmondale, PA.
Pallbearers: Robert Foley, III., Paul Foley, Anthony George and Earl George.
A viewing was held Friday, July 14, 2023 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. from Carmine J. and Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 89 Farview Street, Carbondale, PA.
In lieu of flowers, donations were sent to St. John's Byzantine Catholic Cemetery to help with upkeep and mailed to St. John Byzantine Catholic Church, 306 Susquehanna Street, Forest City, PA 18421.
