Obituary

Paul Sheypuk, 77, of Benton Township, PA, passed away at his home on Thursday, December 17, 2020 after a brief illness. He is survived by his wife the former, Diane Mroczka. They were married on July 20, 1979. He was the son of the late Peter and Mary Gregorski Sheypuk, and was a lifelong resident of Benton Township. Paul resided his entire life in the same house he was born in. He was a graduate of Benton High School and served briefly in the U.S. Army before being discharged to work the family farm. Paul and his brother took over the family farm as teenagers and with much hard work and sweat equity they took dairy farming to a whole new level. Sheyland Farms became known both foreign and domestically as the leaders in embryo transplanting. Paul had a strong work ethic, often working from sun up to sun down and wouldn't have it any other way. Not being able to sit idle after retirement from the farming industry, Paul took on new roles. He worked as grounds keeper for the Warsky family in Waverly, and for the last 10 years he worked for Sleepy Hollow Golf Course in ground maintenance. You could often find him grooming the grounds in the early morning hours, making sure the fairways and greens were perfect by tee time. Paul was a member of St. John Vianney Parish, Montdale, PA. Paul had a kind heart and calm gentle way about him. He would do anything for anyone and was the center of his family's world. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff at Hospice of the Sacred Heart for the outstanding care of Paul during his final days. He is survived by his children: Sandy Walter of Mayfield, PA, and Brian Petrilak of Benton Township, PA; grandchildren: Kristen Walter, Courtney Petrilak and Matthew Petrilak; great-grandchildren: Ayla, Kira and Owen; sister: Dorothy Lee of Benton Township, PA; brother: George Sheypuk of Waverly Township, PA; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He was also preceded in death by a son: Michael Petrilak; brothers: Stanley Horan, Frank Horan and Peter Sheypuk; and sister: Agnes Kapinus. A Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday, December 21, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. from Corpus Christi Church, 704 Montdale Road, Montdale, PA, celebrated by Rev. Michael Kirwin, pastor.
