Obituary

Paul A. Cerra, age 58, of 30 River Street, Carbondale, PA. died Friday evening, June 17, 2005 after a long illness. Born December 26, 1946 in Carbondale, PA. He was the son of the late Anthony Skirty and Josephine (Fotia) Cerra. Paul was a 1964 graduate of the Benjamin Franklin High School in Carbondale and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and Spanish from Oneonta College in Oneonta, New York. He was a retired elementary school teacher from Forest City High School, Forest City, PA., where he taught for 29 years. He was a Director of the Coal Company Theater for 30 years and the Area Community Theater (The ACT) for many years. He was also a member of the Chamber of Commerce and he attended Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Carbondale. He is survived by one brother: Raymond Cerra and Sister-in-Law: Ellen Stadler of East Benton, PA.; two nieces: Dr. Valerie Cerra of Washington, DC. and Captain Adrianne Cerra-Shreves of Sweet Home, OR. The funeral was held Tuesday, June 21, 2005 at 9:00 am from the Carmine J. Louis C. Parise Funeral Home, Inc., Farview 41st Streets, Carbondale, with a Funeral Rite at 9:30 am in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 15 Fallbrook Street, Carbondale, celebrated by Rev. Russell Motsay, pastor. Interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township, PA. Friends called Monday, June 20, 2005 from 2-4 7-9 PM. Pallbearers: Dave Ragnacci, Bruno Bonacci, Stephen Martino and Neil Hutton.
