Patricia E. "Pat" Brown, 62, of Harford, PA, passed away suddenly of stage four lung cancer and metastasis to the spine with her family by her side on Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at Regional Hospital, Scranton, PA. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Laurence J. Brown, Jr. They were married on February 28, 1970. Born September 9, 1953 in Carbondale, PA, she was the daughter of the late Frank J. Kavetski and Helen (Sudlesky) Kavetski Gasper. In Northeast Pennsylvania, we are lucky to experience the change of seasons. As the time for seasons come and go; we think of Ecc. 3:2 (NIV) which states there is a "time to be born and a time to die." This was Pat's time to die. She attended Mountain View High School and was an avid gardener, loved planting flowers and phenomenal with arts and crafts. She loved her pets and all animals very much. Pat was retired as a long time house cleaner. We all will remember her infectious laugh and her kindness in helping others. She is survived by a daughter: Amy C. Brown Whitney of Newark, DE; three sisters-in-law: Helen Hanf of Lenox Township, PA, Carol Robinson and husband Roger of Elkton, MD and Sharon Kavetski of Gibson, PA; grandchildren: Duncan, Maddi and Peanut; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter: Ellen Marie Brown; two brothers: Frank G. Kavetski and Ronald P. Kavetski, Sr.; a sister-in-law: Pamela Herbert; a brother-in-law: David Herbert; a nephew: Martin S. Kavetski. A memorial service was held Saturday, October 31, 2015 at 12:00 p.m. from the First Congregational Church, 5016 Creek Road, Harford, with Rev. William Hagenbuch, pastor, officiating. Inurnment followed at the Harford Cemetery, Harford. Friends called Saturday, October 31, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at the church. Arrangements were entrusted to the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Clifford, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions were sent to the Harford Volunteer Fire Company or do an unexpected and unsolicited act of kindness for some poor or unfortunate pet in her name.
