Parma I. Baggetta, 92, of Mayfield, PA, died Monday afternoon, April 3, 2017. She was the wife of Michael Baggetta, who died on January 27, 1990.
Born in Mayfield, PA, she was the daughter of the late Augustine and Rose Matte Nicolio.
Parma was a 1942 graduate of Mayfield High School and worked as a seamstress for many years at the Mayfield Dress Factory, before her retirement. She was a member of Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Church, Jermyn and was always counted upon to bake for church fundraisers. She enjoyed going to the casino and was formerly active at the Mayfield Senior Center where she enjoyed playing bingo. Parma was a terrific cook and baker but her greatest joy in life was her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by four sons: Michael "Butch" Baggetta and wife Annmarie of Clifford Township, PA, Samuel Baggetta and Richard Baggetta both of Mayfield, PA and David Baggetta and wife Kristina of Warrington, VA; one daughter: Angie Falbo of Mayfield, PA; 16 grandchildren: David Falbo, Marissa Falbo Davis, Nick, Nicole, Matthew, Christopher, Lauren, Eric, David, Adrianna, Michael, Adyson, Christian and Andrew Baggetta and Taylor and Dylan Whitmoyer; 4 great grandchildren: Kaylyn, Olivia, Karli and Gianna; one sister: Irene Romeo of Carbondale, PA; one brother: Jackie Nicolio and wife Barbara of Mayfield, PA; several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a grandson: Samuel Baggetta; a son-in-law: Dave Falbo; two sisters: Angelina Tapyrik and Josephine Telech; three brothers: Carl Savo, Dominick "Mickey" Nicolio and Anthony "Humphrey" Nicolio.
The funeral was held Friday, April 7, 2017 at 9:45 a.m. from Carmine J. & Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 89 Farview Street, Carbondale, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Church, 622 Madison Avenue, Jermyn, PA, con-celebrated by Rev. James Walsh, pastor of St. Maria Goretti Church, Laflin, PA and Rev. Shane Kirby, pastor of Sacred Heart Church, Jermyn. Entombment took place in the family mausoleum at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cemetery, Carbondale, PA.
