Nita R. Zurba, age 77, of Clearwater, Florida and formerly of Carbondale, PA. died Friday, February 21, 2003, at the Cross Perrace Rehab Center, Dunedin, Florida. She was the wife of Andrew J. Zurba. Born September 5, 1925 in Wilkes-Barre, PA. She was the daughter of Antoinette R. (Scalzo) Allen, of Clearwater, Florida and the late William T. Allen. She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale. Prior to her retirement she was an executive secretary for Bristol-Meyers in Hillside, New Jersey and Simmons Mattress Company in Elizabeth, New Jersey. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, and shopping. She is survived by several Cousins The funeral was held Saturday, March 1, 2003, at 9:00 am from the Carmine J. Louis C. Parise Funeral Home, Inc., Farview and 41st Streets, Carbondale, with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am in St. Rose Of Lima Church, 6 North Church Street, Carbondale, celebrated by Rev. Kevin Mulhern, Pastor. Interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township, PA. A viewing was held Friday, February 28, 2003 from 2-4 and 7-9.
