Obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of our beloved Nikki Mallick of Carbondale, PA, on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at the age of 39.

Born on October 16, 1986, in Lackawanna County to Dolores Deacon and Thomas Cook, Nikki lived a life rooted in creativity, authenticity, and unwavering devotion to those she loved. She owned and operated Mallick’s Professional Painting before becoming a full-time stay-at-home parent in 2019, a role she embraced wholeheartedly. She was a devoted wife, mama, daughter, sister, auntie, niece, and friend whose greatest joy was caring for others.

Thoughtful, poetic, charismatic, and deeply perceptive, Nikki had a remarkable ability to make people feel seen, understood, and valued. She found beauty where others overlooked it, expressed herself through music and art, and carried a quiet strength that inspired those around her. Her laughter was genuine, contagious, and unforgettable.

Nikki opened both her heart and her home to anyone in need. She was fiercely loyal to her family and a steadfast friend who showed up without being asked. Above all else, her greatest joy and proudest accomplishment was being a Mama. Her children were the center of her world and her greatest purpose. She shared an unbreakable bond with her wife, who was her best friend. Her love, compassion, and generosity will continue to live on through everyone fortunate enough to have known her.

Nikki is survived by her loving wife, Brikele Mallick; her cherished children, Isaiah Kilmer (19), Kaeson Mallick (6), and Nora Mallick (4); her sister & friend, Renee Deacon, brothers; Michael Deacon, John Deacon, and Tom Cook; four nieces, three nephews; extended family; and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents.

A memorial honoring Nikki's life will be held on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at Shifler-Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 18 Airport Road, Clifford, PA 18413. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., followed by a time of remembrance from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. for anyone wishing to share memories or words in Nikki's honor.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to To Write Love on Her Arms in Nikki's memory, supporting hope and healing for those struggling.

"To love deeply is to leave pieces of yourself in the hearts of others. Nikki's love will continue to live on in all who were fortunate enough to know her."
