Nathan Antonio Sosa, 22, of Tempe, AZ, died Tuesday, August 9, 2016. Born February 2, 1994 in Scranton, PA, he was the son of Antonio Sosa of Waymart, PA and Jennifer Jimenez Davis of Florida. Nathan was a very kind-hearted, goofy, fun-loving young man. He had a contagious smile that lit up every room he stepped into. Anyone who knew him, loved him. He loved making people laugh and he did it well. Upon meeting him, he refused to shake hands and instead, insisted on giving you a hug. He was a 2012 graduate of Western Wayne High School, where he enjoyed playing football. He was attending Arizona State University, where he was an All-American Rugby player and majored in Sports Medicine. He loved lifting and keeping in shape. Above all, he loved his family. His mother, Jenny, was his best friend and his father, Tony, was his idol. His favorite thing to do with his Mom was go out to eat Sushi. He also enjoyed Spanish dancing and cooking with her. He loved teaming up with his Dad to play horseshoes and corn hole. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing with him. Nathan and his younger brother, Noah, had a bond that was like no other. They enjoyed playing football together, wrestling, talking...and eating! He also has 3 younger brothers; Zachery, Ayden and Michael, that looked up to him and that he adored. Family gatherings and holidays were the best whenever he was around. He was very close with all of his cousins and always found something silly to do with them. They all idolized him because he was the oldest, and the leader of the "Sosa Squad." To say the very least, Nathan was definitely one of a kind and will be deeply missed by so many. His Rugby family called him a "legend." Nathan has certainly left behind a beautiful legacy! He is survived by four brothers: Noah and Zachery Sosa, Ayden and Michael Davis; paternal grandmother: Diane Sosa of Carbondale, PA; maternal grandmother: Patricia Cordero of Florida; maternal grandfather: Luis Jimenez of Florida; uncles: Joseph, Dennis, Edward, Orlando and Christopher Sosa, Jonathan Graff, Ulianos and Miguel Brinez; aunts: Diana Cintron, Maria, Michele, and Sylvia Sosa, Jessica Valdez, Veronica Valasquez, Erica Cordero and Ivonne Alejandro; numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather: Ismael Sosa. Family and friends called on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Waymart Church, 342 Honesdale Road, Waymart, PA. A celebration of life ceremony was conducted at 5:00 p.m. by Pastor Sal Maiorana. Arrangements were entrusted to Carmine J. & Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Carbondale, PA.
