Myra Sona, age 71, of Carbondale, PA., died early Wednesday morning, December 19, 2007 at the VNA Hospice and Inpatient Unit, Scranton, PA. She was the wife of the late Raymond Sona, Sr., who died July 30, 2001. Born November 3, 1936 in Carbondale, PA., she was the daughter of the late James J., Sr. and Mary D. (Pettinato) Burns. She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Church in Carbondale. She was an avid doll collector and loved spending time with her grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by two sons: Raymond Sona, Jr. of Carbondale, PA. and Robert Glen wife Trudi Sona of Carbondale, PA.; five grandchildren: Justine, Mandy, Anjelica, Robert Glen and Raymond, III., all of Carbondale, PA.; three sisters: Mary Ann Sona of Little Egg Harbor, NJ., Angela Marie McGrantham of Carbondale, PA. and Phyillis Alayon of Bayonne, NJ.; Several Nieces and Nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers: Robert, Samuel and James Burns, Jr.; one sister: Elaine Burns. The funeral was held Saturday, December 22, 2007 at 8:30 AM from the Carmine J. Louis C. Parise Funeral Home Cremation Services, Inc., Farview 41st Streets, Carbondale, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 AM in St. Rose Of Lima Church, 6 North Church Street, Carbondale, celebrated by Monsignor Joseph G. Quinn, pastor. Interment, Sandy Banks Cemetery, Greenfield Township, PA. Pallbearers: Raymond Sona, III., James Burns, III., Robert Kutch, Jr., Nathan Frisbie and Thomas Mauser. Friends called Friday, December 21, 2007 from 2-4 7-9 PM.
