Minerva Peg Manzer, age 70, of Harford, PA., died late Monday evening, December 10, 2012 at the Geisinger Community Medical Center's Intensive Care Unit, Scranton, PA. Her husband of 52 years is Jesse W. Manzer. They were married October 15, 1960. Born February 19, 1942 in Blairstown, NJ., she was the daughter of the late George and Helen (Counterman) Shipps. She attended the Blairstown High School in New Jersey and worked at the Nicholson Blouse Company, Nicholson Rug Factory and cleaned and catered for 35 years at the Elk Mountain VFW Post 8488, Lenox, PA. She also worked along side her husband at their family business Jesse's Sawmill, Harford. She was of the Methodist faith, enjoyed quilting, crafts, horror movies and traveling to Florida with her husband. She also had a love for her cats, pigs, chickens and rabbits. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister who will be dearly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by one daughter: Jessica Louderback and husband Jim of Harford, PA.; four grandchildren: Monica Manzer and wife Mindy of South Gibson, PA., Karen Vail and Jerry Vail, Jr., both of Harford, PA. and Austin Manzer of South Gibson, PA.; one great grandson: Kyle Kvaltine of South Gibson, PA.; four sisters: Beatrice Feflie of Glassboro, NJ., Judy Talley of York, PA., Diana DeMund of Stroudsburg, PA. and Linna Barker of Bangor, PA.; two brothers: Samuel Shipps of Delaware, NJ. and Marshall Shipps of Effort, PA.; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by one son: Joseph W. Manzer; one daughter: Kathy Manzer; five brothers: Henry, George, Clifford, Lemuel and Robert Shipps; three sisters: Carmella Bell, Eva Morris and Helen Carpenter. The funeral was held Thursday, December 13, 2012 at 11:00 AM from the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 18 Airport Road, Clifford, PA., with Rev. Lynn Tompkins, officiating. Interment, South Harford Cemetery, Harford, PA. Pallbearers: Adam Manzer, Eugene Manzer, Jeff Mott, Brett Morrison, William Resseguie and James Wilbur.
