Michele R. Pond, 53, of Ormond Beach, FL., formerly of Carbondale, PA, died Thursday, February 17, 2022 at Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton, PA, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born April 4, 1968 in Carbondale, PA, she was the daughter of Rose McDonald Lynch of Carbondale, PA, and the late John J. Lynch, Jr. Michele was a graduate of Carbondale Area High School and was currently employed as a manager at the Driftwood Beach Motel, Ormond Beach, FL. She enjoyed shopping and frequenting the casino. Michele was very excited about becoming a grandmother as her daughter is expecting a baby boy. She is survived by two children: Kimberly Pond and fiancé, James Igoe of Scranton, PA, and Andrew Pond and girlfriend, Rebecca Salgueiro of Archbald, PA; her fiancé: Glenn Ruddy of Ormond Beach, FL; two brothers: John Lynch, III., and wife, Eileen of Forest City, PA and David Lynch of Forest City, PA; a niece and two nephews: Marissa, John, IV., and David, Jr.; and several cousins. The funeral was held Tuesday, February 22, 2022 from Carmine J. & Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 89 Farview Street, Carbondale, PA, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Church, 6 N. Church Street, Carbondale, PA, celebrated by Rev. Arun Lakra, assistant pastor. Interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township, PA.
