Michele A. Cruz, 53, of Carbondale, PA., died Monday, November 25, 2013 at Moses Taylor Hospital, Scranton, PA. Born in Paterson, NJ., she was the daughter of Mabel Benson Hendricks of Carbondale and the late Michael Hendricks. She had been employed as a waitress at the Viewmont Diner in Dickson City, PA. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and was an avid bingo player. She is survived by two daughters: Jennifer and Amanda Cruz; five siblings: Betty Capozzi, Michael Hendricks, Denise, Robin and Chris Doherty; four grandchildren: Eric, Jessica, Hector and Victoria; her longtime companion: David Rosario; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three siblings: Roxanne Sanchez, Sandra and Edward Hendricks. The funeral was held Saturday, November 30, 2013 at 12:00 PM from the Carmine J. Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Farview and 41st Streets, Carbondale, with Bishop Ray Johnson, officiating. Interment, Willow View Cemetery, Clifford, PA. Friends called Saturday, November 25, 2013 from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM. In lieu flowers, contributions to the family would be greatly appreciated.
