Michael W. Zavislak, 83, 35 Green Street, Carbondale, PA., died Friday, July 22, 2005 at home after a brief illness.
He was the husband of the former Theresa Sloan. His first wife the former Mary Orchick, preceeded him in death in 1969.
Born August 30, 1921 in New York, NY. He was the son of the late John and Kazmira Piastuch Zavislak.
He was a member of St. Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale. He attended the University of Maryland for 2 years and studied drafting. He was a United States of America Navy Veteran.
He was an avid golfer, fisherman and deep sea fisherman. He also enjoyed spending time in his garden. After remarrying thirty years ago, his whole life revolved around his wife and family.
He will be deeply missed by his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is survived by two sons: Robert W. and William J. Zavislak, both of Carbondale, PA.; 8 Grandchildren; 4 Great Grandchildren; Nieces Nephews
He was preceded in death by one daughter: Kathryn Kohut; one brother: Joseph Zavislak; one sister: Ann Bajusz
The funeral was held Monday, July 25, 2005 at 9:00 am from the Carmine J. Louis C. Parise Funeral Home, Inc., Farview and 41st Streets, Carbondale, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am in St. Rose of Lima Church, 6 North Church Street, Carbondale, celebrated by Monsignor Joseph Quinn, pastor. Entombment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township.
