Michael Witko, age 84, of Greenfield Township, PA. died Tuesday morning, February 15, 2005 at the Mid Valley Hospice Unit at Mid Valley Hospital, Peckville, PA. His wife was the former Jane Fowler, who died in 1985. Born May 20, 1920 in Green Grove, PA. He was the son of the late Joseph and Agnes (Burns) Witko. He was a retired lumber miller for Walczak Lumber Company, Inc. in Clifford, PA. where he worked for over 40 years. He was also a self-employed farmer for several years. Witko of Wilkes-Barre, PA., Michael R. Witko and Daniel R. Witko both of Greenfield Township, PA.; four sisters: Betty Cucura, Agnes Whitehead, Irene Hurley and Rose Plutino; one brother: James Burns; 17 Grandchildren; 22 Great Grandchildren; Nieces Nephews He was preceded in death by three brothers: John Burns, Daniel and Andrew Witko; one sister: Marjorie Warholic The funeral was held Friday, February 18, 2005 at 10:00 am in the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home, Dundaff and Main Streets, Clifford, with the Rev. Joseph Sitko, pastor of St. Pius X Church, Royal, PA., officiating. Interment, Lamb Cemetery, Jackson, PA. Friends called Thursday, February 17, 2005 from 6-9 pm.
