Michael B. Rios, 34, died Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital, after a prolonged illness. Born May 27, 1987 in Liberty, NY, he is the son of Penny Rios-Emigh of Carbondale, PA, and Robert Samianino of Peabody, MA. Michael is the step son of Dennis Emigh of Carbondale, PA. Michael enjoyed watching Pokémon and was fond of the character Pikachu. He is also survived by two sisters: Lillian Crellin and husband, Devin of Denver, CO and Isabella Emigh of Carbondale, PA; his grandmother: Peggy Mitzlaff of Colorado; nephew and niece: Oliver and Sophia Crellin; uncles and aunts: Tony and Eve Rios of Colorado and Joey and Jessica Rios of Florida; and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandfather: Jerry Rios; and his great grandparents: Donato Canceleno and Ivah Luella Kauffman. The funeral was held Saturday, January 8, 2022 at 5:30 p.m. from Carmine J. & Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 89 Farview Street, Carbondale, PA, with Rev. Ken Caflin, pastor of the Hamlin Assembly of God Church, officiating. The service was live streamed from the funeral home's website. Click here to view the livestream.
