Michael A. Pisanti, 82, of Mayfield, PA, died Sunday, April 2, 2023 at Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton, PA, after an illness. He is survived by his wife, the former Rita Piwowarski. They were married on July 2, 1971.

Born June 15, 1940 in Syracuse, NY, he was the son of the late Anthony and Ruth Baker Pisanti.

He was retired from the Chamberlain Corporation, Scranton, PA, and was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus and Mary Church, Jermyn, PA. Mike was a lover of Old Time Radio shows, black and white movies and thunderstorms. He frequently enjoyed sitting on his porch drinking a coffee and eating a fresh donut.

He is survived by four sons: Anthony Pisanti of Altoona, PA, Daniel Pisanti of Archbald, PA, David Pisanti and wife, Brenda of Mayfield, PA, and James Pittsman of Archbald, PA; four daughters: Deborah Smith and husband, William of Dorrance, PA, Michelle Natishak of Mayfield, PA, Kimberly Bartoli and husband, Gino of Mayfield, PA, and Michaelene Shipshinski and husband, Kevin of Mayfield, PA; 21 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters: Philomena Toscano of New Jersey and Toni-Marie of New York; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his first wife: Ann Mellin Pisanti; and an infant son: Michael.

The funeral was held Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. from Carmine J. & Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 89 Farview Street, Carbondale, PA, with a blessing service conducted by Rev. John C. Ruth, pastor of Sacred Heart of Jesus and Mary Parish, Jermyn, PA. Entombment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township, PA.

Pallbearers: Anthony, David and Daniel Pisanti, James Pittsman, Gino Bartoli and Kevin Shipshinski.

A viewing was held Wednesday, April 5, 2023 from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m.
