Michael J. Beddoe, Jr., 62, of Thompson, PA., died Friday morning, August 29, 2008 at the VNA Hospice Unit at Community Medical Center, Scranton, PA. He was the husband of the former Carol Siwicki.
Born November 25, 1945 in Johnson City, NY., he was the son of the late Michael J. and Dorothy (Lesko) Beddoe.
He was a graduate of the Binghamton Central High School and was self employed having operated Mike's Roofing and Painting. He served in the National Guard with the 108th Infantry and was a social member of the Elk Mountain VFW Post 8488, Lenox, PA. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and gardener. He is survived by four sons: Daniel Beddoe of Montrose, PA., John Beddoe and wife Sharon of West Palm Beach, FL., Scott Siwicki and partner Eric Slater of Baltimore, MD., Michael Beddoe, IV. and wife Julie of Garner, NC.; one daughter: Pam Showalter and husband Peter of Thompson, PA.; two sisters: Tina Farrell and husband Ray of Jermyn, PA. and Pam Dougher of Carbondale, PA.; four grandchildren: Courtney, Alison, Alex and Colleen; his favorite brother-in-law: John Siwicki.
He was preceded in death by one brother: Billy Beddoe; one grandson: Brandon Beddoe. A memorial service was held Tuesday, September 2, 2008 at 11:00 AM from the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home Cremation Services, 102 Dundaff Street, Clifford, PA., with the Rev. Barry Jaggars, pastor of The Church on the Hill, Carbondale, officiating. Cremation took place at the Maple Hill Crematory, Archbald, PA.
