Maryanne Kizer, 72, a resident of the Creekside Health and Rehab Center, Carbondale, PA, died Thursday, June 16, 2016 at the nursing home following a battle with lung cancer. She was the wife for 25 years of the late Harry R. Kizer.
Born April 25, 1944 in Carbondale, PA, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Martha Hawaka Mosley.
Maryanne worked for several years in the kitchen at the Carawanna and Little Nikki's Pasta House, both in Carbondale, prior to her retirement. She was of the Russian Orthodox faith, was an avid bingo player and was a huge fan of Elvis Presley. She will be dearly missed by her family and was a faithful companion to her dog, Cuddles.
She is survived by two daughters: Ann Marie Kizer and husband Jason Rake and Julie Ann Mitchell, all of Carbondale, PA; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one son: Raymond Kizer; one daughter: Florence Cyganick; one grandson: Harry Joseph Cyganick; one brother: David Mosley.
The funeral was held Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. from the Carmine J. & Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Farview and 41st Streets, Carbondale, with a Requiem Service by The Very Reverend Mitred Archpriest John Sorochka, pastor of St. John the Baptist Russian Orthodox Cathedral, Mayfield, PA. Interment, Simon Cemetery, South Canaan, PA.
Pallbearers: Jason Rake, Ashley Kizer, Troy Rogers, Sean Woodbridge, Zachary Mitchell and Sheldon Mitchell
