Obituary

On Sunday, September 6, 2020, Mary Bell Susco, passed at the age of 101. Mary was born on October 30, 1918, in Carbondale, PA, to Biagio Bell Baglio and Lucia Guinta both of Sera del Falco, Sicily. Her niece, Patricia Angello Gleich and husband, Paul, Camp Hill, PA, were her caregivers. Patty, as she was fondly called, visited Mary daily at the Manor Care Nursing Facility in Camp Hill. In her loving and selfless way Patty made sure that Aunt Mary was under good care. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Nicholas Susco of Forest City, and a step son, Michael Susco, Albany NY. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Joseph Bell, Carloss Bell, Michael Bell, Samuel Bell, William Bell Baglio, her sister, Sarah Blandina, and a niece, Carmella Talarico. Surviving are a sister, Madeline Angello, who is 104, Camp Hill, PA, a step son, Nicholas Susco, Jr. and wife Candy, Charlotte, NC, and a step daughter, Linda Susco, Albany, NY, also nieces and nephew, Lucy Craparo and Mary "Snooky" Cerra both of Carbondale, Lucille Chizmadia and husband, Ernie and Joann Bilyard both of Connecticut and Thomas Angello and wife, Margie of Camp Hill. Mary also has several great nieces and nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mary was a graduate of Benjamin Franklin High School, Carbondale, class of 1938. Upon graduation she was employed at Carbondale Products where she met her husband, Nick. Mary and Nick subsequently settled in Danville, PA where they worked together at the Danville Manufacturing Company. After Nick's death, Mary moved to Camp Hill to be closer to family. She was a member of the Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Camp Hill. Mary especially enjoyed working in the garden and helping her nieces and nephews. She looked forward to her annual trips to Carbondale to visit relatives and friends. A viewing was held Thursday morning from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. at Carmine J. & Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 89 Farview Street, Carbondale, PA. A Mass of Christian Burial followed at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 15 Fallbrook Street, Carbondale, PA, celebrated by Rev. Kevin Miller, assistant pastor. Interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township, PA. Pallbearers: Matt Schlager, Owen Schlager, Steven Gleich and John Gleich. Memorial donations were made to the Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 3425 Trindle Road, Camp Hill, PA 17011 Visitation at Funeral Home 9:30 am - 10:30 am Thursday, September 10, 2020 Carmine J. & Louis C.
