Mary M. Sliva, 86, of Carbondale, PA., died Friday morning, February 4, 2011 at Brighten at Julia Ribaudo nursing facility, Lake Ariel, PA. She was the wife of the late Anthony Sliva, Sr. who died on April 11, 1980. Born May 25, 1924 in Carbondale, PA., she was the daughter of the late Vito and Catherine (Pascuzzi) Cerra. She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Carbondale. She is survived by one daughter: Carol Lloyd of Carbondale, PA.; one son: Leonard Sliva of Carbondale, PA.; five grandchildren: Joseph Lloyd, Carol Bronson, Dawn Burdick, Wright Lloyd and Patrick Lloyd; 6 Great Grandchildren; three brothers: John Cerra of Carbondale, PA., Vito Cerra of Liverpool, NY. and Joseph Cerra of Jamesville, NY.; three sisters: Jennie DelGuidice of Clay, NY., Immaculate Ranieri of Syracuse, NY. and Clara Suhrhoff of Brooklyn, NY.; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one son: Anthony Sliva, Jr.; two brothers: Peter and Patrick Cerra; one sister: Eleanor Lesofsky. The funeral was held Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at 9:00 AM from the Carmine J. Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Farview and 41st Streets, Carbondale, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 AM in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 15 Fallbrook Street, Carbondale, celebrated by Rev. Russell E. Motsay, pastor. Interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township, PA. Friends called Monday, February 7, 2011 from 6-8 PM. Pallbearers: John Cerra, Joseph P. Lloyd, Patrick A. Lloyd, Wright J. Lloyd, John Lloyd, Jr. and Stanley Bronson.
