Mary E. Pedley, age 77, of West Clifford, PA., died Tuesday afternoon, September 30, 2008 at the Marian Community Hospital, Carbondale, PA. She was the wife of the late Robert D. Pedley who died July 29, 2005. Born December 4, 1930 in Scranton, PA., she was the daughter of the late William and Evelyn (Ruddy) Allen. She was a member of St. Pius X Church, Royal, PA., and its altar rosary society and choir. She retired from Haddon Craftsman, Scranton after 30 years. She was an avid reader and enjoyed bingo, crocheting, attending craft shows and traveling with her late husband to trap shooting tournaments. She is survived by one daughter: Mary husband Victor Gazella of Whites Crossing, PA.; three sons: William wife Laurie Pedley of Tunkhannock, PA., Gerald wife Margaret Pedley of Olyphant, PA. and James wife Phyllis Pedley of St. Augustine, FL.; four grandsons: Loren Pedley, Devon Pedley, Sean Pedley and Victor Gazella; two granddaughters: Kyla Pedley and Heather Gazella; several nieces nephews. The funeral was held Friday, October 3, 2008, at 9:00 AM from the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home Cremation Services, Dundaff Main Streets, Clifford, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 AM in St. Pius X Church, Route 106, Royal, celebrated by Monsignor Joseph G. Quinn, pastor. Interment, Forest Hills Cemetery, Dunmore, PA. Friends called Thursday, October 2, 2008 from 4-8 PM. Memorial contributions can be sent to St. Pius X Church, C/O St. Rose Rectory, 6 N.
