Mary Ann Milo, 44, of Carbondale Township, PA, died Monday, November 23, 2015 at Moses Taylor Hospital, Scranton, PA.
Born December 29, 1970 in Carbondale, PA, she is survived by her parents James and Ann McDermott Milo of Carbondale Township, PA.
Mary Ann was a 1988 graduate of Lakeland High School and a 1992 graduate of Marywood University, Scranton, where she earned a bachelor's degree in teaching. She was employed at Marian Community Hospital, Carbondale, before relocating to Phoenix, Arizona to teach in the Arizona School System until health problems forced her to return to Carbondale.
She loved to travel, especially visiting Joe and Grace, her nephew and niece. Despite her medical problems, she was always ready to assist others. She was a volunteer knitter and sleeping bag maker for the homeless at the VNA Hospice, Olyphant, PA, where she enjoyed the comradery of others. She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale.
She is also survived by a sister: Lisa Miller and husband Jeffrey and their children Joe and Grace of Dumfries, VA; a brother: James M. Milo and companion Lisa Bandru of Carbondale, PA. You could usually find her spending time with their dog Lizzy; two uncles: Louis Milo and wife Mary and their daughter Ann Marie; William McDermott and his children Mary M. Rosler and husband Mark and son Jake and William McDermott and wife Marci and sons Billy and Ricky; several cousins
She was preceded in death by an aunt: Mary Catherine McDermott; a cousin: Louis Milo, Jr.
The funeral was held Saturday, November 28, 2015 at 9:15 a.m. from the Edward A. Wade Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 4 Morris Place at Terrace Street, Carbondale, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Rose of Lima Church, 6 N. Church Street, Carbondale, celebrated by Rev. John C. O'Bell, pastor. Interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township, PA.
Pallbearers: Mark Albino, D.J. Wormuth, Joseph Wahy, Richard McDermott, William McDermott, III. and William McDermott, IV.
Friends called Friday, November 27, 2015 from 4-8 p.m.
