Mary A. McKalotz, 95, formerly of Carbondale, PA, died Friday, June 30, 2017 at Cherrydale Health and Rehabilitation Center, Arlington, VA. She was the wife of the late Anthony McKalotz. Born October 22, 1921 in Carbondale, PA, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Margaret Zabielski Seleski. Prior to her retirement, she had been employed in the local garment industry as a sewing machine operator and was a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union. She was of the Roman Catholic faith. She is survived by three children: Barbara Perez, Irene Yessen and Michael McKalotz; three grandchildren: Melissa Perez, Joseph Yessen and David Yessen; four great grandchildren: Myriam and Fiona Perez-Sheldon and Joseph and Nakita Yessen; one brother: Stanley Seleski; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers: Emil, Joseph and Chester Seleski. A private graveside service will be held at Sacred Heart of Jesus Cemetery, Jermyn, PA, with Rite of Committal by Rev. Shane Kirby, pastor of Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Church, Jermyn. Arrangements were entrusted to Edward A. Wade Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Carbondale, PA.
